Colorful Travels:

Colorful Colorado and beyond…

Stanley Lake | Colorado

Today was a glorious Colorado fall day! I took the girls and a friend to Stanley Lake for an afternoon of exploring. The lake water level is down so we were able to walk on the soft sandy shore. Stanley Lake is a small little nature haven in the middle of the big city.

Stanley Lake is a 2,327-acre park located in Westminster, CO with 14 miles of maintained walking trails.

You can see an amazing variety of wild animals at Standley Lake Regional Park in a relatively small area. This is because the lake is an artificial reservoir created in the middle of the short grass prairie. As a result, there is a wonderful contrast between prairie, lake and wetland ecosystems.

The Denver Metro area knows how to do Parks and Recreation. There is no shortage of trails and great lakes to explore even if it’s in the middle of the big city. I am truly blessed to live in Colorado.

That lake is full of plutonium!!!
    Read Kristen Iversen’s book.
    Stay away from there.
Plutonium in the ground & sediment.
2012 NPR has a podcast with an interview with Kristen.

Please listen to Kristin Iverson’s interview on Fresh Air (NPR).

She talks about the plutonium levels in the area, and I think it may concern you.
