Colorful Travels:

Colorful Colorado and beyond…

Gatlinburg, TN and Biltmore Estates, NC

So, this is a big one! Never would I have thought to add the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee to my Travel Bucket List. But when we were presented with an opportunity to stay in an amazing time share for free there was only one word to say, “Heck, yeah!” (Okay that’s two words.)

Thanks to my awesome sister-in-law, we had this amazing view from our suite. She shared her time-share dates with us. There were 4 suites that connected so that the family could hang out during our down-time, which as it turned out, we didn’t have much of.

I have to say I left a little bit of my heart in the Smokies. I love any mountains, and I think God does too, because He had fun creating this gem. These mountains are completely different from the Rocky Mountains. With lush forests, rambling creeks, relaxing waterfalls, and rain, The Smokies are a glorious retreat. It rained everyday we were there. I am not complaining. I love the rain too.

Instead of reposting the trip details twice (on my personal blog and on this blog), I thought I would give you a just little taste of the Smokies. If you would like to read all the details head over to my other blog. It’s so big I am posting in three parts all this week.

On the itinerary:

  • Playing tourist in downtown Gatlinburg
  • Southern BBQ review of Tony Gore’s in Sevierville, TN
  • Chattanooga Choo-Choo, cupcakes, and Moon Pies
  • Biltmore Estates in North Carolina and the fanciest McDonald’s you will ever see
  • Westgate Resort in Gatlinburg details and their awesome waterpark
  • Exploring the Great Smoky Mountains

So, please join me over there…
