Colorful Colorado and beyond…
I’ve never been to Paris. But it’s on my travel bucket list. There is this sweet place in Longmont, CO called The Cheese Importers. From the name you wouldn’t guess they sell anything but cheese. At least I didn’t. But it is one of those best kept secrets in Longmont.
Order your Parisian style breakfast or lunch at the bistro counter (menus are hanging on the wall).
Like the Bistro Grilled Cheese Du Jour. I am craving it right now!
Or a breakfast cheese plate with fresh fruit and Baguette. That’s Brie on the plate…the best kind of cheese (if you ask me).
Or the Parisian Breakfast with butter and jam. And a croissant as big as my 10-year-old’s head!
Don’t forget the Macarons. Pronounced MacarOns (rhymes with ‘horn’). These little sandwich-like biscuits with crisp crusts and a soft filling in between are a little bit of heaven.
You may choose to sit on their outdoor patio, the Parisian style cafe, or upstairs. The whole place is stuffed with Parian decor and items for sale.
This is one of the two rooms upstairs. Those lovely upside-down umbrellas hanging from the ceiling are for sale too.
Don’t forget to pick up some handmade soaps after you eat.
Our afternoon spent in Longmont went something like this:
Also, Longmont is an artist friendly town. There are interesting art installations all along Main Street. Got an afternoon to kill? Check it out. Longmont is about a 45 minute drive from Denver.
